S14E15 - Free Fall

PATRICK: Has everyone gone on a tea break?!
HOLLY: I'm here.
PATRICK: I don't need another nurse I need a . . . doctor.
HOLLY: Hi, my name's Holly Miles, hi.
PATRICK: Holly. Long time no see. This place is full of surprises.

*-*-*-*-*

TINA: Holly (Hands Holly some paper)
HOLLY: Oh, thanks.
TINA: So where do you know Mr Freezy from?
HOLLY: Who says I know him?
TINA: I wasn't born yesterday! There's a definite spark there! So come on, spill the beans!
HOLLY: There are no beans to spill.

*-*-*-*-*

HOLLY: So why couldn't you play along and pretend we didn't know each other?
PATRICK: Well, I guess you get under my skin.
HOLLY: No. Got. Paste tense. Now you've got everybody gossiping. Nice start.

*-*-*-*-*

PATRICK: Any chance of a cuppa?
HOLLY: The kettle's boiled, yeah, you might have to wash a mug though.
PATRICK: You want one?
HOLLY: No, I've got one thank you.
PATRICK: I'm sorry about dropping you in it earlier.
HOLLY: Oh forget about it. So, how was your first day?
PATRICK: I've had worse. Still, it saves me unpacking.
HOLLY: Yeah where you staying?
PATRICK: In a penthouse on the Wharf. A mate of mine's property. I'm house-sitting.
HOLLY: It's the story of your life, isn't it. You always land on your feet.
PATRICK: Not every time. (walks over to Holly) What you doing later?
HOLLY: When later?
PATRICK: After work.
HOLLY: I'm painting paediatric resus.
PATRICK: That's taking your commitment to the NHS a bit too far isn't it?
HOLLY: Well, if I don't do it, it won't get done.
PATRICK: What about after painting?
HOLLY: Bed. I'm on earlies again tomorrow.
PATRICK: Ah, shame. Thought we could catch up.
HOLLY: Yeah, shame

*-*-*-*-*

PATRICK: Just like old times.
HOLLY: Er, not quite, no. Anyway, how did you end up on this rotation? I thought it was somebody else.
PATRICK: He had an accident, he had to drop out.
HOLLY: Nothing to do with you I hope!
PATRICK: You're determined to think the worst of me aren't you! Anyway, you should be glad. I'm much nicer than he is.
HOLLY: In your opinion.
PATRICK: Well, it was fate that got us together, not an accident.
HOLLY: Patrick you never used to believe in fate.
PATRICK: Oh, I can't knock it! Especially when it means I can get to know you again.
HOLLY: Not a chance!
PATRICK: Professionally I meant! I was very impressed with your resus. Makes a change from your student days: couldn't tell your VT from your VF.
HOLLY: Well that was six years ago. I have moved on since then.
PATRICK: So you seeing anyone?
HOLLY: This your idea of getting to know me professionally?
PATRICK: Well . . . are you?
HOLLY: Yes.
PATRICK: Good.
HOLLY: Actually it's better than good. It's brilliant.
PATRICK: I'm glad. So what's he like?
HOLLY: He's short, blonde, polite . . . and he's considerate.
PATRICK: Just like me then!
