ABOUT IAN KELSEY AND SANDRA HUGGET

IAN KELSEY

Ian was born on 17th December 1966 in York. His parents are John, who is a printer, and Julie, a window dresser. He has a brother called David who is 18 months older than him. He trained at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre York and graduated at The Guildford School of Music and Theatre, where he became good friends with Eastenders star Michael Greco. Ian's hobbies include music and golf and he supports the football team Barnsley.

He has been in many theatre productions including Grease, where he played Danny, and Kes. He played Joe Green in the film Black Beauty in 1994 and he also starred in Wild Justice in 1993. In 2001 he appeared as a guest in Murder In Mind as Liam, and also as a karaoke singer in Men Behaving Badly in 1992.

Ian's most famous TV roles were in Emmerdale and Casualty. He played Dave Glover in Emmerdale for three years. He then went on to play Dr Patrick Spiller in Casualty from 1999 to 2002. He also appeared in one episode of Casualty, before Patrick, in Series 13 as Ian Fisher. Ian Kelsey recently starred alongside Angela Griffin in the third series of Down To Earth, which has just finished, in which he played Matt Brewer.

Both Ian and Sandra starred together in the play Same Time Next Year at the Theatre Royal in Windsor in March this year. The play was a romantic comedy set from 1951-75 and it was amazing!

SANDRA HUGGET

Sandra was born on 20th September 1973 in rural Ross-On-Wye. She was born to Welsh parents and her father is the famous golfer Brian Huggett and she also has an older sister, Yvonne. Sandra moved to London 10 years ago. She attended Mountview Theatre School where she was awarded a singing scholarship; she has an alto singing voice. She graduated from Mountview in 1995. While there she performed in a wide range of plays including Olivia in Twelfth Night and singing in an Old Tyme Music Hall Production.

Sandra is best known for her television roles Holly Hart in channel 5’s Family Affairs. Holly Hart was the bisexual solicitor who Sandra played for 2 years. She also played SHO Holly Miles in Casualty. Her most recent television role was Gina Minto, the brother of a mentally ill man in the popular drama Doctors. Some of Sandra film credits are On 1 and Amy Foster.

After drama school Sandra started her career in theatre playing Imogen in Same time next week and Saffron Maitland in Happy families. Some more recent theatre credits are Possibilities and The very nearly love life of my friend Paul. Sandra toured the country for 2 ½ months playing Bridget in her first professional musical, A Slice of Saturday Night, which some of the Hollyites, including Emmie and I went to see in York on 23rd November.

Sandra dated Rocky Marshal who played her twin brother when they worked together in Family Affairs. He now plays Ed Keating in Holby City. Sandra used to suffer from severe headaches and partial blindness and discovered the cause was down to drinking tea.

Sandra's new programme Too Good To Be True is planned to be shown some time in the Autumn.
